The starting point
Jason wanted to remodel his mother's bathroom, with accessibility as the real goal — a space she could use easily and safely, that still felt like a nice bathroom rather than a medical one.
The scope
We built the shower with a curbless entry, so there is no lip to step over, paired with a linear drain that lets the floor slope cleanly to one side and keeps the entrance flush and walkable. A frameless glass enclosure keeps the space open and easy to move in. We tiled all the floors and walls, installed two new vanities, and painted the bathroom throughout.
The outcome
The shower came out very accessible, and his mother was very pleased with it. The result is the goal of good accessible design: a bathroom that quietly works for the person using it, without announcing why it was built that way.
