An Open-Concept Lanai & Pool Deck Transformation

The starting point

We were brought in by Leah, an interior designer working on a Carrollwood home. The existing screened lanai and its concrete posts were closing the house off from the pool it looked onto, which is a common way for Florida homes to waste their best feature.

The scope

The first half of the work was demolition and rebuild. We took out the screen enclosure and the concrete posts and reopened the space into a true open-concept transition from the house to the pool. The second half was the surround: new pool pavers throughout and new fencing around the perimeter.

The result

Working to a designer's drawings raises the bar on coordination, because the finish has to match an agreed vision rather than a written scope. Leah has worked with a number of contractors across Tampa and her note afterwards was that we outshined them. Her clients were happy, and so was she.
